MROC interclub CCV trial · Green Hall Farm, Near Llanfyllin, Powys
Two days. Twenty sections.
Teams of three.
Sat 12 – Sun 13 September 2026 · Site open Friday noon to Monday noon
The Majors is the club's flagship weekend: a classless cross-country trial where teams of three drivers share twenty sections, competing for the Majors Rose Bowl. It's open to teams from all ALRC-affiliated clubs, and the camping field is as much the point as the trial.
Entering
| Entry | £180 per team (early-bird rate) — Entries must be booked in advance. |
| Vehicles | Must comply with the relevant ALRC vehicle specification, and pass scrutineering on arrival |
| Marshals | Each team supplies at least one marshal per trial day (packed lunch provided) |
| Triple drives | A limited number of teams may share one vehicle between three drivers, first come first served — if it breaks, that's the team's risk |
Competitors, marshals and officials: please complete the signing-on form before the event. New to marshalling? Motorsport UK explains what's involved.
How the trial runs
Twelve sections on the Saturday, eight on the Sunday. Teams run in groups of about four, each group rotating through the sections with a leading marshal in radio contact with control. Lunch is taken on the hoof, so both days finish at a sensible hour.
Scores are collected after each day, provisional results are posted on site, and final results are published once checked. The Rose Bowl goes to the lowest team score — with a shield for the best standard-vehicle team and a trophy for the best all-female team.
On site
Camping is £30 per pitch from Friday noon to Monday noon, with water, toilets, an Elsan point, a bar and catering. Generators between 09:00 and 21:00 only. No ground fires or barbecues — raised burners need an ash tray underneath — and rubbish goes out in the sealed bags provided.
Not competing? Come anyway. Marshals, campers and spectators make the weekend.
Getting there
Green Hall Farm, Near Llanfyllin, Powys, SY22 5LG. Enter from the B4393 and follow the MROC signs — the lanes are narrow, so the site runs a one-way system.
Do not enter via the driveway off the A490. That is the exit route, used heavily by the farmer, with no passing places.
This is a working farm, and use of the site is a privilege — watch for stock and machinery, and take direction from the marshals.
